Accelerating Application Performance
Voltaire’s products are widely deployed for these application environments and have been fully tested and integrated with our ISV partners. For example, for clustered databases, Voltaire’s solutions have been tested and integrated with Oracle 10g and IBM’s DB2. For HPC CAE applications, Voltaire server solutions have been tested and integrated with a variety of ISV applications.
Based on RDMA architecture, Voltaire server solutions provide high performance connectivity for InfiniBand clusters and grids. Voltaire server solutions support a variety of operating systems—both Intel and AMD architectures—in both 32 bit and 64 bit mode. Without requiring any changes to the applications or the infrastructure, Voltaire server solutions offer 3 times the performance of competitive technologies, from expensive proprietary technologies all the way down to Gigabit Ethernet.
Voltaire server solutions provide an integrated interconnect for all traffic types including inter-processor communications, storage and networking. Using one high performance interconnect link for all traffic reduces the infrastructure complexity and the TCO of the total solution. Both the hardware and software is architected to provide multi-service support such that multiple applications and network traffic can share the same hardware and software.
Voltaire server solutions are comprised of 2 main components.
Voltaire’s InfiniBand software stack provides drivers for Linux and Microsoft Windows that includes a suite of high performance upper layer protocols (SDP, uDAPL, IPoIB, iSCSI RDMA and MPI) that are ideal for HPC clusters and data center applications including IBM DB2 and Oracle Database 10g.
