Voltaire® WinOF
Voltaire WinOF is a comprehensive set of InfiniBand device drivers, binaries and libraries that are installed on Windows-based host systems, such as Microsoft Windows Server 2008 HPC Edition and other Microsoft Windows operating systems. For the first time, Windows HPC computing tasks can benefit from the unparalleled performance of 20 or 40 Gb/s InfiniBand technology, while increasing productivity with faster time-to-job completion and reducing Capex and Opex. With Voltaire WinOF, virtually any Windows-based server application can seamlessly use InfiniBand and benefit from its heightened performance.
The Voltaire WinOF software pack is required for operating various types of InfiniBand host channel adapters (HCAs) installed in a Windows-based host computer.
WinOF is Voltaire’s distribution of the open source WinOF project developed in conjunction with the OpenFabrics Alliance. While the community version provides common features, the Voltaire WinOF package offers a unique set of functionality that makes it much easier to deploy and use, including:

The Voltaire WinOF software package is a part of the Voltaire solution for Windows. Combined with Voltaire’s InfiniBand-based switch and IP and storage gateway products, it creates a comprehensive solution that enhances the scalability and simplifies the deployment of Windows based servers/clusters. It significantly increases system communication rates 10 to 60 times over traditional methods, and improves the performance of various computational and visualization clusters.

Voltaire OFED (OpenFabrics Enterprise Distribution) Support
Voltaire offers an easily installable binary form of the Open Fabric Alliance’s Open Fabric Enterprise Distribution (OFED) along with the most recently available fixes and patches that have been discovered during the Voltaire testing and certification process. All such fixes and enhancements to OFED are continually contributed back to the OpenFabrics developer community so they may be used in future versions of OFED.
The OFED drivers include enterprise-grade features including Quality of Service (QoS) management capabilities that enable unified LAN, IPC and SAN applications over the same wire and integration of the Reliable Datagram Service (RDS) protocol which enhances performance of Oracle 11g RAC.
