Voltaire and Cluster Resources Collaborate to Deliver Resource Management and Scheduling for Unified Fabrics

Solution Brings New Levels of Efficiencies by Managing Heterogeneous Resources and Dynamically Forming "Application Environments" to Meet Application Needs and Service Level Objectives

BILLERICA, Mass. and HERZELIYA, Israel — November 8, 2007 — Voltaire Ltd. (NASDAQ: VOLT), a leading provider of grid backbone solutions for the data center, today announced that the company is working with Cluster Resources, Inc. to deliver an integrated management, scheduling and provisioning solution for unified fabrics consisting of compute, storage and network resources.

By combining Voltaire's GridVision Enterprise management software with Cluster Resources' Moab family of scheduling products, the companies now offer the first integrated solution to dynamically form multiple "application environments" from shared pools of physical or virtual compute, software, network and storage resources. These application environments can be scheduled and scaled dynamically to meet specific application and organization service level objectives. This capability is critical for computation centers or on-demand facilities that serve multiple users, applications or organizations, or for customers who plan to consolidate multiple server farms and clusters to gain more capacity with fewer resources.

"By integrating Voltaire's GridVision Enterprise software with Cluster Resources' Moab scheduler and orchestrator, we have created a powerful provisioning and management solution for unified server and storage fabrics," said Yaron Haviv, Chief Technology Officer, Voltaire. "As part of this solution, Moab determines when application resources are needed and in what capacity, based on requests, policy and workload, and instructs GridVision Enterprise -- which acts as the resource manager -- to create, virtualize, re-allocate or alter the infrastructure."

The joint solution provides the ability for each new environment to be fully isolated from the other, have a unique configuration and topology, and allow resources to be consumed only when needed and in the right amount or priority. This creates greater efficiencies and better performance of the server farm, as well as better alignment with service objectives.

"Cluster Resources recognizes the synergy between Voltaire's next generation data center, network and virtualization technologies and our workload and resource orchestration," said Michael Jackson, President of Cluster Resources. "Our vision is to create an intelligently orchestrated dynamic environment for our customers and this joint solution helps us further deliver on this goal."

SC|07 Demonstration and Presentation

Voltaire will demonstrate the solution in its technology showcase in booth # 1137 at the Supercomputing 07 show in Reno, Nevada from November 12 — 15, 2007. The solution will also be presented by Voltaire's CTO, Yaron Haviv, in a session entitled, "Managing Network and Storage Infrastructure as an Application Resource" on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 4:00 pm in room A7.
